Inspired by the Greek and Roman Gods and their stories, presented here is a Family Tree of the principle Greek Primordial Deities, Titans, Gods and Goddesses, and some important Heroes.
Another condensed version is given on a separate tab based on the Genealogy found in the 'Theogony' of Hesiod who was more or less a contemporary of the great epic poet Homer.
With more than 2,000 entries and over 100 accompanying comments, there's much to explore.
2. Family Tree of the Egyptian Gods
Inspired by the Egyptian Gods and their stories, presented here is a Family Tree of the principle Egyptian Primordial Deities, Gods and Goddesses, and underworld deities.
The full version contains images of the gods as well as a brief description of their function. Another condensed version is given on a separate tab showing just the names of the deities.
With over 100 Gods and Goddesses, there's much to explore.

● The name of the deity in hieroglyphic script, shown at the bottom left-hand corner of the entry.

The Family Tree of the Greek Gods and Family Tree of the Egyptian Gods have been created using MS Excel.
For the best user experience they should be viewed and edited using Excel.
Due to the size of the family trees, and the large number of entries, the viewing experience using the free online version of Microsoft Excel will be limited.
Devices:
For the best experience, the family trees should be viewed on a laptop or desktop screen.
The family trees can also be viewed on Apple and Android tablets and phones.
However, please be aware, that on a small screen, such as a phone, the viewing experience will be limited.

Can I still use the products if I don't have excel?
To enjoy the full features of the Family Trees, it is recommended you use the Excel desktop app which is part of Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
Mac users can use Excel for Mac.
Do I need to have the most up to date version of excel?
If you have Microsoft Excel 2007 for PC or later, or Excel 2011 for Mac or later, you can use all the features of the family trees.
The exception is the macro functionality which is not accessible in the Mac version. We are looking to develop a Mac specific version in the future.
Do I need to be an expert in excel to be able to use the
products properly?
The Family Trees are very easy to use.
Navigation instructions are included to help you move around the large amount of information, but if you can use a mouse or touchscreen, you’re good to go.
Are any special excel tools/features used to create the Family Trees?
Yes, the Family Tree of the Greek Gods contains a macro to address a known issue with Excel where comments are not always displayed correctly.
Comments will sometimes not display all the text or may appear as a thin horizontal line rather than a correctly sized yellow text box.
The macro offers a straight-forward fix by resizing the comment with a keyboard shortcut (Control Q).
Where do I find the instructions on how to use the Family Trees?
Instructions are included as part of the family trees as a separate tab in the files.
Can I add my own entries to the Family Trees?
Yes, both Family Trees will come to you as editable files, so you can add as many new entries as you like.
Can I trust the quality of the information in the Family Trees?
Yes, all entries have been fact checked to the best of the
creator’s ability.
If however, you do find an error of any kind we would really appreciate you pointing it out to us.
